dear members of the list,
i'm myself a new one and hope you'll enjoy my new presence as much as
i'm sure i'll enyoy yours.
my name is Marco Nannini and i'm italian. howevere i've found myself -
for strange and quite obscure reasons - being in the uk at the moment.
i'm an undergraduate student at the university of york and although my
course is in economics and finance my range of interest not only is
quite broader than that but unfortunately i have to say quite differs
from my studies. i've been previously studying english literature for 5
years and i tried - bearing in mind language and academic limits - to
broaden my knowledge. several are the fields were my interest is steady
yet - to keep this first e-mail short and essential - i'll just mention
briefly few 'titles'.
- the literary relationship between T S Eliot and Ezra Pound (Alas! some
members of the list will have already turned down this message as in
fact they were both american. yet the less pretencious will forgive me)
- Dante Alighieri's "la Divina Commedia" and its influence on the modern
poets' view of the world as a modern hell.
- In particular, Dante and TS Eliot's 'the waste land'.
- regional english poetry with a particular interest in language changes
over the country.
- new poetic and rethoric tecniques developed in poetry in the 20th
century.
- "classic" poetry and modern poetry: an everlasting link or a decaying
custom?
for the time being this is my first e-mail. i'll appreciate any reply
and in particular from those that either share my interest or are
themselves experts in the field. will all the readers forgive me if i
didnt bother writing capital letters after full stop mark and for the
few mistake i must have done as an italian.
your sincerely, marco nannini.
