I'm forwarding this, as it seems to be worded for the list rather than
just lil' me. RC

I am for this, well I would be you say - and incidentally thanks to those
who have supported me backchannel. I have been chatting with them - as they
know of course - but I register my thanks for the support here.
I also registered by non combatancy on the bbc site. I logged in to get the
Huge poem to send to people and found an invite to have my say. I have been
waiting for the death threats, although what I said was measured, but
assume it was weeded out. It was a grief page and I said I had none.
Back to the quote. I missed _Retake the language_ or hadn't remembered it.
The sentiment is excellent but I must quibble in the hope of advancing the
debate. I don't think it is a matter of _retaking_; it was ever thus.
Reminds me of Rousseau at the beginning of social contract - that the
capture of land as private property has been going on since the beginning,
however one defines it.
So there is nothing to retake. But it might be an idea to take it for the
first time.
That is what we are trying to do I believe. That is what the worthwhile
poets have ever been trying to do.
