John Wilkinson's Sarn Helen is available from Equipage, c/o Rod
Menghem, Jesus College Cambridge CB5 8BL, I think for œ1.50.
Thanks to those who expressed some interest in this poem. I haven't
fleshed out the discussion myself because I'm not sure what John
would feel about my re-airing comments made to him personally, but I
was intrested to know what other responses might be around. I do
think there is something of a change of direction in John's work but
any changes on the horizon still have to combat the enormous pressure-
chamber of more immediate accelerations which actually resist what
might be a matter of distance: acceleration slows down getting to
grips with the resistance of passages, though the former holds more
lateral economies together perhaps.
No time to hint at more as I'm working on my offering for this sat's
colloquium and doing my best to avoid the airlessness of the above.
