thanks to all comments, both private and public, received re Osmosis etc.
Im sorry for the pedantic among us who dont want things mentioned no-one
said. [i prefer a bit of rhetoric mseself].
Surely, the secret is - if one *wants* it [and I do] - is to play the
marketing/grants game and use the money [public: ie *ours* from taxes etc]
to publish what we want. Stride, for instance, doesnt have a remit for a
particular type of poetry. I get funded to run my operation, whatever [that
isnt to say I dont get an annual check-up] I print/publish. Why is everyone
so scared of cashflow sheets and figures? Its easy to learn, useful to
know, and gets you the money to promote and publish.
Get in there and grab the money available; promote, advertise, market and
spread the word. Regard it all positively [hence my use of the word <game>,
implying a particular attitude, i feel] rather than being scared of
criteria and paperwork. I spend about 6 hours a year applyin for my
[reasonable] funding.
