Helen,
Many thanks for your message. I share your views for the most part, and the
closedness has been troubling me for a time, though I feel unqualified to
comment. In answer to your question, I have been on the list for a similiar
period, and I was at first delighted to find intimations of the existence of
types of poetry that seem to be less well-publicized. However there is very
little poetry on the list,(as has been said, anyone can mail a poem to the
list, but no-one does- why?) , and though I recognise that everyone else
probably has easy access to the subjects of all these conversations, my
problem has been that I am here in Spain. It is hard to get hold of all the
publications people have recommended to me, on my rather limited budget. I
hope this summer to get abreast of it all (Events in August?). To me the
list is like a conversation held just around a corner. Interesting and
intriguing, but often mystifying. I suppose my lurker status is
self-explanatory. I would love to participate more, but will have to wait.....
