The Future of Electronic Information Intermediaries:
A survey undertaken by DJB Associates
Commissioned by the UKSG and JISC/ISSC and written by David Brown, this
timely report answers many of the outstanding questions, and poses a whole
new set about the scholarly communication landscape in the future.
It is based on an extensive and widely-distributed questionnnaire,
in-depth interviews with key players in the UK and overseas, and an
exhaustive analysis of the state of the current marketplace.
A valuable tool for assessing future options for:
* librarians facing up to the problems of sourcing electronic
and print serials
* publishers who wants to know who best will deliver their
journals in an electronic environment
* subscription agents who wants to know who is targeting their
traditional territory
* outsiders to STM publishing looking at future business opportunities
