The massive email problems we are having at Bristol seem to have
prevented my post-Shell messgae getting through
(1) Congratulations to Mike Woods, Dave Gilbert and other who did such a
supoer job kin getting a 27% vote (sounds like Barbara Castle
at the labour party conference)
(2) For thoise thinking of leaving, here's a further possibl;e test
of the RGS.
Apaarently jellicoe is retiring as President. I beleive that the
Presidency is an elected position, but the RGS has established a
search committee to identify his successor. Presumably that
person will have to be put to the membership for a vote. Why not
put up asn alternative candidate and display to the RGS membership
at large contempt for non-democracy
