POST DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP
THE MEDIEVAL INSTITUTE
WESTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY
Pending final budget approval, Western Michigan University's
Medieval Institute is seeking applications for the position of Post
Doctoral Fellow to conduct research into the general area of computers
and Medieval Studies. Current and developing projects at the Institute
are the digitization of medieval manuscripts, online publication, and
computer-assisted instruction. The successful candidate must be able to
propose his or her own projects and to assist the M.A. in Medieval
Studies program with light teaching. The initial appointment to this
full-time, twelve-month position is one-year, renewable.
Requirements: doctoral degree in a discipline of Medieval Studies,
knowledge of and experience with computer systems, research skills in
Medieval Studies and particularly manuscripts, grant writing skills,
ability to work well as part of a team and also independently, and good
people and managerial skills. Competitive salary at starting rank,
