Yes, there are some interesting ideas here. In a sense, Paul uses Type
to tag componenents of an element, eg, for an element Author, he suggests
concepts that I'll informally call Author-name, Author-email, Author-postal,
Author-phone, Author-fax, Author-affiliation, and Author-homepage. This
reminds me of the very first "Data Elements" IETF BOF at which Bunyip was
doing IAFA templates.
There is some good stuff here, but very open-ended for simple metadata.
(eg, in the blink of an eye did the DC just grow six new (sub)elements?)
