I am as eager as anyone to merge these lists. The impediment to doing
so immediately is that we need to have a draft of the Image Meta report
discussed and vetted by that group, and that process is independent of
the general discussions going on on meta2
My counter proposal is to suggest that everyone on Image-meta who wants
to participate in the larger process subscribe to meta2, and all such
discussions will be held there only.
The only discussion to be carried forward on Image-meta will be the
discussions of the workshop report.
With luck, the image-meta list will conclude that narrow task by the
end of this calendar year (possibly even the end of the month,
depending on how much contention there is about our consensus).
So... no more double posting, and I'm sorry this has been the burden
that it has... I wish I knew a better way.
That said, I think we've made a lot of progress, and I'm very pleased
indeed about that... thanks to all for your diligence and careful
thought.
The draft for Image Meta will be on the web for discussion in
the coming few days.
regards,
stu
