I certainly want to retain Identifier, and even though I constantly
mistype it as "Indentifier" the name is not unclear to me, certainly
not in the context of a bibliographic record and if subclassed
as, e.g., Scheme=URN.
By contrast, "Resource" seems very vague to me, and
seems to apply to the thing to which the DC record pertains,
rather than to some name of that thing.
Contemplating the list of Scheme values supplied at
http://www.roads.lut.ac.uk/Metadata/DC-SubElements.html
which is: URN, URL, ISBN, FPI, "URL" looks out of place. But
I see that as an argument for adding a Pointer element (which
I'm not proposing; if people want to think of URLs as
indentifiers, that's okay in this context) rather than
for renaming Identifier.
