LAND MANAGEMENT RESOURCE CENTRE MANAGER
Applications are invited for the above post from November 1996 or as soon
as possible thereafter. Applicants should be professionally-qualified
graduates, with experience in reference work and electronic information
systems. Skills in training users in information searching and knowledge of
sources in relevant subject areas will be a distinct advantage. Good
communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with an
energetic and flexible approach, and the ability to work on one's own
initiative.
The person appointed will act as the primary contact between the Department
of Land Management & Development and the University Library. He or she will
be responsible for a departmental resource centre, but will divide his/her
time between the Department and the Main Library as a member of the Urban
and Regional Studies Faculty Team. This post offers line management
experience, involvement in planning and budgeting, and the opportunity to
contribute to the development of new services tailored to faculty needs.
Salary within the range L14,317 - L15,986 per annum (ALC Grade 1) or
L16,628 - L21,519 per annum (ALC Grade 2) (pay award pending) depending on
qualifications and experience. University Superannuation Scheme benefits
apply. The post is offered for three years but,following a review, may be
extended.
