You might want to have a look at todays Times Higher Education Supplement,
where there are several pieces of direct relevance to eLib/digital
libraries research/projects in the multimedia secton:
* a piece on EEVLs new subject gateway to engineering resources
* Debby Ravens article on On-demand publishing, which describes this area
of the eLib programme
* a piece entitled "JISC appeals as cash crisis looms" on the cost of
implementing JISCs new 5 year strategy
..and some other bits and bobs of interest.
There are (short) summaries of these pieces in the THES online at:
http://thesis.newsint.co.uk/MULTIMEDIA/mm.html
By the way, there's a (biggish) issue of Ariadne as well as one of
D-lib, which will both be up in the next few days (wish we had "reading
weeks" at work like we did on my undergrad course :-)
