I'd like to see a bit of discussion on this point, but I guess I have to say
it
seems reasonable. For the purposes of reaching some consensus, would
someone summarize the proposed version identification approach and
make a formal proposal? Jon?

That's OK; if we label the pre-User Group Dublin Core v0.1, we can combine
that, the User Group's proposals and any other proposals from Ohio, Bonn,
etc into Dublin Core v0.2. That way we can get v0.1 out of the door more
or less immediately (well, its been out of the door for sometime, what
with Ariadne and Dlib articles and the like, but I mean we can get our
code out that that uses it).

January is probably an OK date for v0.2 of Dublin Core as it gives us a
couple of months to chew the fat about what changes need to be made to
v0.1. But I'd like to have some of the v0.1 tools shipped to a wider
audience (even if its just say www-html or www-talk) in the next couple of
weeks if possible so that we've some implementation experience and
feedback from the community to allow us to make sensible decisions about
v0.2. If we can get consensus on the embedding of versions in the
embedded HTML version of DC then we can do this safely (versions will be
useful in any case - as we're discovering over in the CIP mailing list at
the moment :-) ).
Tatty bye,
Jim'll
