Some comments on Paul Miller's "Metadata for masses"
article (but also DC META tags in general)...
1 - Why do we have to have the LINK entry for
each element in DC? Why not just once?
For example, just:
<META NAME="package" CONTENT="(TYPE=begin) Dublin Core">
<LINK REL=SCHEMA.dc HREF="http://purl.org/metadata/dublin_core_elements">
....
(Note: Is the LINK tag meant for human or machine consumption?)
2 - The issue of ordering META tags is important as (in the example
given in the paper), if there are multiple authors, with multiple
affiliations, this needs to be preserved by indexing services.
IE: need to point this out.
3 - I really like the Dublin Core logo at the end of the paper.
Can we use this to promote the cause? (mabe a bit smaller...)
We should link it to a page detailing how to use DC in HTML....
Cheers... Renato
