The bit that made me chuckle was when they said that one of the two
reasons why META was limiting was that only 4% of the documents on the
web have a HEAD construct and only 0.5% use META tags. I just did a
search on Alta Vista for ID-PUBLISHER (one of their proposed tags) and
got a whopping 12 hits which I tend to think is somewhat less than 0.5%
of the web... :-)
I tend to think that most of the rest of their arguments are equally
dodgy.
