I am sympathetic to the desire to maintain a high signal-noise ratio on
this list, and that's probably a good reason to solicit subscribers
widely and indiscriminately. But let us not overlook the fact that
this effort is, above all, about forming a broadly based consensus
regarding useful ways to promote better resource description.
I think its probably OK to let anybody who knows enough about metadata
to ask, to be on the list. So, open acceptance, (but not unmonitored
subscription) may be the best way, and of course all subscribers are
*encouraged* to solicit knowledgeable people.
I would also propose that we fold in the membership of the first
workshop mailing list (largely quiet at this time) to the current
list.
