Apologies for cross-posting.
I am looking into the possible purchase of a scanner and am having some
difficulty getting a balance of reliable information about the performances
of those available. I therefore hope that members of this list may be able
to share their experiences with me.
I am looking for a scanner which can deal with a variety of materials,
particularly tightly bound volumes which cannot be forced onto a flatbed
(the cost prohibits these materials being disbound for scanning). The only
one like this which I have come across so far is the Minolta PS 3000 which
has an overhead mounted scanning device and which applies an algorithm to
correct the curvature of the pages of the book in its supportive cradle.
However, this is a bitonal scanner and I am hoping to find a colour one.
I hope that you are able to share your experiences with me; please reply to
me personally and if there is interest in my findings I will summarise for
the list.
Thank you,
Joanne
