Mike Crang says post-structuralism cannot be anglophone, given the
continental-philosophical origin of the most quoted thinkers. I think
there is a double error here: since many anglophone academics lack time
and language to follow what happened to such "seminal works" in their
language of origin, the works are judged on their impact on the anglophone
academic world. Mike Crangs list is accurate, with that limitation. The
second point is that, although these are the most quoted source works in
post-structuralism, the current literature itself is predominantly
anglophone.
I am the first to admit that is impresionistic. However, the means are
available to test this: citation networks should be easy to show.
