Dear All:
This is a last minute reminder that there will be a one day
conference entitled `Postgraduates and Critical Geography' taking
place at the University of Nottingham tomorrow (Friday 19 July).
The morning session comprises of brief talks by postgraduate
geographers on the nature of the `Postgraduate experience'.
It is hoped that discussions around these talks will draw out ways in
which postgraduates have been influenced by different ideas of
`critical geography'.
The afternoon session includes keynote addresses by Dr Tim Unwin and
Dr Joe Painter, who will talk more generally on the topic of
`critical geography'. An Open Forum will follow for discussion of the
speaker's comments and of other issues arising from the conference
and from recent debates on this forum.
There are still places left for anyone who can get to Nottingham
tomorrow. The morning sessions start at 9.45am and 11.30am, while the
afternoon session will start at 2.00pm. If you are thinking of
attending, please could you let me know by phone or email direct, as
soon as possible. Transport to and from the city centre has been
arranged for any time during the day, and accommodation can be
arranged if necessary.
Thanks!
Ben Cowell
