I have found some interesting material starting to emerge from a couple
of European projects. One is Imprimatur, which sent me a questionnaire on
curly questions in copyright, based around 5 'stories' they had dreamt
up. The URL is http://www.imprimatur.alcs.co.uk/.
The other is Decomate, based in Tilburg, Barcelona and our very own LSE.
They have a useful set of documents including a review of document formats
and a review of associated relevant projects. It's a bit sad not to find
eLib projects mentioned in the latter, but perhaps it's a matter of
timing. There is a reference to the eLib web pages from the Decomate web
pages at URL http://www.lse.ac.uk/decomate/.
This is certainly a fair point and one that I shall seek to rectify!
I think it probably came about because having put in the link to the main
eLib page I left it at that. However it would be sensible to include
selected eLib projects in the related projects section.
Also if anyone has information on similar projects beyond the eLib
structure I would be interested to hear about them with a view to
including links or information about them on the Decomate pages.

Imprimatur's ECMS Current Awareness page lists several relevant projects.
Unfortunately several of them including CITED are only available on the
web as brief summaries, as far as I can see. Anyone have a reference to
more detailed material on CITED? It is described as a very influential
project proposing a model of copyright management.
There is also a SEMPER project looking at electronic trading. Sadly, the
documents here are compressed postscript, and I can't get them to
de-compress and print so far. I have suggested to the site that a more
accessible format might be appropriate.
It is important for eLib projects to try to keep abreast of developments
in related projects. We try to facilitate this through concertation days,
but listening in on mailing lists and visiting web sites is an important
awareness activity. I'd like to see projects reporting interesting and
relevant findings, too.
