News of a Chair in Geography at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne
This new Chair has been created as part of Newcastle University's
strategy for developing teaching and research relevant to global
issues, which also includes a new Chair of International Politics.
The closing date for applications for the Chair in Geography

The new Chair in Geography should be someone with a background in
teaching and research in Human Geography and will be expected to lead
a group of staff researching in the field of International Cultural
Change with links into International relations, International
political economy, International environmental politics, Geopolitics,
Processes of globalisation, Changing racial, gender and national
identities, and Uneven development. The successful candidate will
also be expected to contribute to a new MA in this area.
The Chair is tenable from 1 October 1996. Salary at an appropriate
point in the Professorial scale. Applications deadline 8 June 1996.
