All,
I want to thank Joe Painter for adding some clarification to the
term 'critical geographer'. I was querying Nick Blomley last week, after
months of reading the forums discussion re: Shell, Nigeria, this beast
called the RGS and so on, about what and for whom the term 'critical' meant.
As if by some e-mail telekinesis, this set of aims and constitution
appear. Cosmic. To most intents and purposes it was very close to my
sense of what 'critical geographer' would most likely mean given the
context of traditional geography, the discussion on the waves of the last
months, and the interpretations I would have surmised. For all those who
have lacked these few foundational words, and I know there are others, thanks
for the clarification - the starting point from which to build further thought.
