IRC stands for Internet Relayed Chat. I believe most suites
of Internet access programs contain suitable software which
effectively enables lots of people to dial into a dedicated
"server" and then join a "Channel". Your screen then divides
into two main areas with lines of "chat" in the top window
and a box at the bottom where you enter your contributions -
hitting <return> then sends it into everyone elses top
window.
On other newsgroups it is usual for contributors to
suggest a time which is convenient for most and specify a
server to log onto. One then continues to discuss matters
of great importance like Ruud Gullit, Gianluca Vialli,
Franck Leboeuf and hopefully Roberto Di Matteo. Of course,
if Chelsea Football Club fails to interest then we could
talk about Hotch's puking pussy although I suspect he has
already found the answer, i.e. Aspirin :-)
Hope this helps.
Regards
Peter
P.S. Win95 is really very good for this type of thing. Why
not give it a go?
