>From your messages, re inappropiate request by younger patients, I think
you are failing to understand what you have achieved under the NHS-UK.
When it was set up in 1948 most people felt the system in place left
much to be desired.
Patients where expected to think for themselves and look at the mess the
country was in.
The nice socialists were sure that in time they could achive a better
state of
affairs with the government doing the thinking for everyone.
As you can see from the 'hip visit' the older people still have not got
the message
but the young ones 'who need tissues for their sore nose' and 'a vist
for a sore throat';
they have responded to 50 years of Pavlovian repetative exortation. They
have understood
the message "don't think ring your GP". Its free, its your right and
thinking hurts.
Now with the new mergency number no one born after say 1959 need think
again....!
Best wishes for 1997 - hope the snow ploughs manage to clear the roads
so you can do all those nice home visits.
In my opinion there is no neeed for non-prearranged house visits in this
day and age.
Emergency to the OOH centre.I do about 2-3 per day.
