Having had our EMIS server go down for 4 working days earlier this year,
I found that our main problem was having a record of our repeat
prescriptions.
So what I do each month is run a search that simply picks up all our
regular patients. Then I create a text file that includes each
patient's name, DOB and address, and any current drugs they may have.
The result is a file that is pretty well unusable for any sort of
analysis, but does keep a record of medication.
It would be nice to use the option in searches "Export to ASCII file" or
some such, but this option does not allow the inclusion of current
drugs.
