I have had this problem once or twice.
The reason is not that surgeons don't want to operate or they might have to
do it three times (what surgeon doen't want to operate especially as here
they are paid large sums to do it!!!!).
Unfortunately the reason is the tibial insertion bone is too active and the
implant become loose very quickly. By 65 or so the bone activity slows and
the inplant will hold.
There is a similar technical problem with people who have a fusion they can
be unfused but the implants are designed for whole knees not trimmed ones.
