I think this is the beginning of the end for netscape in the browser market (or at least the beginning of the end of its domination). The next version of IE will be tied more closely to the operating system and in a year there will be no need for add on browsers. Netscape will have to carve out a market in Server software and internet tools and even then Microsoft will be snapping at its heels.

Yup, I just changed from netscape 2.01. Seems to me that Netscape is
becoming too big and sluggish, (cf Windows 95), and MSIE takes up less
disk space, which is at a premium on my machine. Nice interface,
blends well with the OS and automatically boots my dial up networking
window when it starts (something I could never get Netscape to do).
Shame really. It would be nice to stop Microsoft from taking over
even more of the world, but I am happier with IE 3.0 than Netscape.
