HMG doesn't want to be seen as getting in the way of capitalism/
market forces/multinational pharmaceutical conglomerates.
Therefore, it licenses anything that moves, whatever the cost,
irrespective of therapeutic value.
Then, to control costs, HMG urges/forces/coerces GPs to cut
prescribing of expensive/new drugs.
So, HMG can boast about wunnerful UK drug industry and can then
blame spiralling drug costs on us.
Simple. Wish I'd thought of it. Maybe I did.
