Following a message from a GP based in Australia regarding a practice
exchange I wonder if I might offer the gp-ukers the opportunity to sample
the delights of the "Land of the Ford Anglia".
New Zealand is a favoured destination for junior doctors, the working
conditions here being seen to be superior to the home country, I am not sure
if life as a rural GP in New Zealand is easier than in the UK, but a
practice exchange would give you the chance to find out without getting your
fingers burnt.
I trained in Sheffield, qualified in 1986, finished my MRCGP in 1991, having
completed the Bristol GPVTS. I have family in Merseyside and would be most
interested to hear from any serious colleagues from that neck of the woods.
I would be looking to exchange house, car, practice, and dog for a period of
3-6 months starting early in 1997. I have 4 children, and would be looking
to exchange with someone similarly endowed!
