Hotch, in false pursuit of his destiny:
> I have been contacted by a hotel who are looking for someone to
> provide a medical service to their patrons.
Being in the Gatwick airport area, sometime back I was involved in a
rota with 2 other Practices. We had (they still do, I belive)
contracts with the local hotels (4-5) to provide medical cover.
The hotel called whoever was on-call at the time of need.
Different types of patrons. Brits en route to or from hols falling
ill, can't charge private fee other than certificate of fitness to
travel or not but you could claim the appropriate TR/Imm Necc or Emer
Trt IOS.
Another group was tourists who were, on the whole, insured. They
were charged something like 45 quid for night visit and 30 for day.
Third group was the airline staff, mainly air hostesses having
vapour attacks before nasty long haul flights and it was a chance to
learn more about what was behind the sync swimming smiles.
Now, it depends what your dream is Hotch: if you want to work (and
you HAVE to go come what may) for about 50 pounds a go, then
goforit, if, on the other hand, you are like me, wishing that
next patient on the appointment list does not show up and you spend
money to get a locum in so that you can go fishing and contemplating
(yes, it is that bad. YES, IT IS), then......
Best wishes
Al Hakim Ibn Omar
