Some of you might be interested in a teaching aid I have developed for the
Office for National Statistics, UK.
The video, "Death Counts" is designed to help doctors complete the Medical
Certificate of Cause of Death more accurately.
It has been developed in conjunction with the Leicester Royal Infirmary
Health Education Video Unit and focuses on two main areas:
completion of the cause of death section on the certificate;
when to refer a death to the coroner.
It consists of a short history of death certification, clear instructions
illustrated with computer graphics and a humorous sketch. The video is
backed up by a pack of training material including pocket reference cards, a
workbook of test cases and a specimen death certificate.
"Death Counts" is available direct from the Office for National Statistics
priced $50. Additional copies of the training packs are available priced
$10. Call 0171 396 2229 for more details or write to "Death Counts", room
519, St. Catherine?s House, 10 Kingsway, London WC2B 6JP.
I hope this is useful information to you,
