Yes I actually see patients. (Warning lurking lawyers - Is that a breach of
confidentiality?)
It is a bit strange this, but I do *really* like seeing patients. Yes some
do moan and whine a bit (some an awful lot :-( ), but I find surgery is a
refuge from all those crappy pieces of paper and forms generated nowadays,
especially from fundholding. Occassionally I do some good, make someone
happier (not necessarily better), rarely solve a clinical conumdrum:-)
HA meetings (including medical advisers), fundholding, lmc, etc get in the
way, but if you don't ask you don't get (or in my case kick and scream and
yell, oh and sometimes abusively - but never to patients which is one of my
worst faillings).
