I to have had correspondance with BAMS on our T&CoS relating to statutory
medical reports. We are only required to give information of *medical fact*
and not opinion. One *abusive* exchange related to a query as to how
exercise could be of medical benefit to a patient with asthma.
Another *abusive* exchange covered the psychiatric DLS form that asks if the
patient will be upset if they loose their benefit. I to was threatened with
a service committee hearing/complaint, but after forcefully pointing out
that this would be an opinion and not a statement of medical fact he had to
gracefully withdraw.
Interestingly, a BAMS doctor has stated in writing that 6% of our basic
practice allowance is payment for completion of these forms. We have written
to the GMSC over this. It isn't enough.
