Yes. Some years ago Update (now MCS) arranged a training day on SQL
(structured query language). It was execellent. I now rarely have to use the
provided search engine within MCS 2000, but go straight to the database
engine and write SQL scripts. Data can be exported to an ascii file which
can be imported to another Unix application (eg wp or spreadsheet), or the
file can be tftp/ftp'd across to a dos/windows workstation.
I have written imm/cytology target scripts (the MCS ones are grossly
inadequate - or were, but they haven't told us that they've written any new
ones). Our HA accepts the imm printouts:-), but I still have to transfer
across the cytology figures - our practice covers three HAs :-(
MCS have said that they are planning another SQL study day, but I gather the
fees are hundreds of pounds instead of the tens it was previously.
Fortunately, I don't need to go:-) Anybody want SQL training? I'll be happy
to oblige.
