Archiving
- back-up tapes for a year or so. Then transfer to CD-ROMs for the next
five years until something
even more permanent than papercomes along.($80 plus $40/copy)
We transfer end-of-year tapes to CD-ROM. Seal in envelope with covering
dated letter.
I expect them to be opened only in presence of appropriate Court order.
Copies are kept for safety.
I understand that there must be clear evidence that the records could not
have been tampered with.
NB we have no national cradle to grave record system - the patients leave
scattered unconnected records the width of the land and overseas!

market value or bury them for later. No compensation after 1 year just a
hefty fine...
Supplier:
Go and see them speak to their experts but more important speak to their
financial backers. It is a very expensive business to design and support
software - only big pockets win.
Try only proven systems don't be 'bleeding' edge.
