The flu vaccine season is approaching and we remembered a letter
from the FHSA that arrived at the end of last year telling us we
could not charge patients who did not fall in the DOH catergories.
Our scheme was to charge 12UKP if they insisted on having it.
This covered the cost of the vaccine and our time. We thought this was better
than sending the patient to the local chemist (we are
part dispensing) who was charging about 17UKP just to dispense it.
Does anyone know any smart way of letting patients outside the
chronic disease categories benefit from the vaccine without
draining practice goodwill and resources?
