Yes

Not true!
All versions of MS Access from 1.1 onwards have been able to attach Foxpro tables,
as well as import them. We have for many years used an Access database with two
attached Foxpro Vamp files (read only) from the Registration module of Vamp
Business (same as Vamp Fundholding) to maintain a record of our health promotion
activities (how many consultations we do for routine hypertension follow-up, etc.)

The main problem with trying to import the data into MS Word is that the patient
database is very large, and slower if you use attached files rather than imported
ones.
We are using Office 95, but had no problems running with Office 4.X and versions
1.1 and 2.0 of Access.
I must confess that I have thought of importing the data into Word for a long
while, but stumbled over the problem of how you _select_ a patient to actually
merge into Word. Word mail merge works with lists or databases of records, and I
have not yet found out how to just select one patient from the database. If anyone
knows how to do this, I would be very interested.
