I think perhaps I'm not making myself as clear as I might. I'm not
advocating blatant commercialism, there is clearly no place for it on
this list. But when people who contribute to the list sell/develop
products that would be of genuine use to other list contributors, I
think there should be a sensitive way of announcing this.
You might, for example, have a sub-list for posts which mention a
product or, more easily, a standing order that any such posts must use
a standard subject entry so that those easily offended by things for
sale can ignore/filter out.
Currently we have "in-sig" advertising from a variety of people, which
is presumably deemed acceptable. I woudl like to see it formalised a
tad, that's all.
