You have had good advice on using Medeconomics. The figures below are
culled from August 1996 issue. In fact the information you specifically
ask is not there, so I have calculated it as best I can....
> Capitation fees
Average list 1,887 (England)
84% under 65 :15.35 x 1,585 = 24,330
8% 65-74 :20.30 x 151 = 3,065
8% 75+ say :39.25 x 151 = 5,927
total= 33,322 = 54%
> IOS fees
Average IOS 7.62 x 1,887 = 14,379
subtract 2,750 Health Prom = 11,629 = 19%
which includes... 1.46 x 1887
> Health promotion
About = 2,750 = 4%
>target payments
About = 5,000 = 8%
> Other allowances. (I mean things like group practice allowance
> NOT expenses)
PGEA : = 2,260 = 4%
BPA : = 7,200 = 12%
This is about 4,000 short of the 67,000 gross pay so percentages are
pretty approximate. Missing bits are probably seniority, rural practice
stuff tec, I guess.
GP Average pay 1996 : 44,483
Gross pay 1996 : 66,998
Expenses element : 23,000
Clawback : 485

No. Almost everyone was getting Band 3 payments anyway.
