I've seen a few second rounds of Varicella in kids.
Usually much milder second time round.
Like the primary episodes when there is a grand total of one blister -
enough for a diagnosis of course.
But then there are all the non-vesicular (ie. macular) varicellas.
(sorry, varicellae) I suspect most of the epidemics spread as fast as
they do because the immune kids re-contact and spread it about with
their "cold" symptoms.
Just waiting for my kids to erupt any day now actually, thanks to their
playmates but I suspect I've brought home "the virus" (ie. passive
immunity) already. Like maybe last year or the year before.
Are there any good epidemiologic (please excuse this unpalatable word..)
studies of natural rates of IgG in varying ages? I personally would be
very interested in such a study..
