I have amended the title of this thread slightly.
Gerard has raised a very serious point!!! I am no medic, so I have
the luxury of writing from a position of great ignorance of the
medical issues; also I am not a lawyer, so I again have that same
luxury.
Briefly, I do not know who would be responsible if a patient had been
treated in a way which did (or even might) have caused injury. Bit
it might be a good idea to try and decide.
I suspect that a response to an open query on GP-UK should be seen as
being inherently unreliable. I have no way of checking on the
claimed identity or qualifications of the memebers of GP-UK, and I
would be fairly certain that those responsible for the running of
GP-UK do not have any such checks either. In those circumstances, i
think it is prudent for anyone who is responsible for the safety/well
being of others (eg a GP treaing a patient) to treat incominmg
information with at least a small pinch of salt.
