We have acquired the same hardware and software as yourselves so that
we can experiment with scanning ECGs etc
For several years we have used the predecessors of this combination
to store all typewritten letters we receive about patients and store
them as .txt files linked to our computer medical records. We scan
several hundred a week and have some 30 000 in our file server. It
greatly increases our efficiency of reviewing reords during
consultations. We could not imagine life without it!
Interestingly Omnipage 7 allows use to save the letter as an HTML
page, We are considering storing all these documents as HTMLs and
using the increasingly available web browsers to view them and our
ECGs etc. We are using FrontPage to run a small intranet for our
experiments.
