In an Interface article:
Microsoft invited major PC machine makers to tell them about what MS
would like to see in future machines (PC 97nDesign Guide).
1. Minimum 120-150 MHz Pentium processor.
2. Sealed cases (no more: beware the GP with a screwdriver).
3. Instant power on.
4. Quiet operation.
5. Fast Universal Serial Port Bus as standard.
6. Standard device bay for adding stuff like backup and cd units
without opening the box.
7. Inetgral modem.
8. Stereo surround sound.
9. DVD-Rom drive.
10.Ability to connect to the home telephone system, video machines
and, of course, the Internet.
11.Wireless keyboards, remote control and a hook up to the TV
instead of monitors.
GP computing software makers: please take note !
