Couldn't agree more.
So very well put.
I've wished so many times to shout something like this at the top of my voice
when I've been in so many meetings with IM&T people.
In order to get an IT project installed and working,
one needs a FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATION and one needs to STICK TO IT,
not chop and change. As you so rightly say, 'computerized' covers a whole
spectrum of things, from admin. staff using a word processor to electronic
smart cards and robotic surgery.
The work 'computer' is the shibboleth of out times (corect my usage of this
word please).
