I sent a reply this morning on ATM networking to the list.
I think it got lost in cyberspace.
Anyway, this is EXACTLY the sort of thing that ATM networking will allow you
to have. It's called 'Quality of Service'. The IP community are
'tacking it on' with things like RSVP, but it comes native with ATM.
Remember - the people who brought you ATM are the people who bring you
your desk/home telephone. When was the last time you heard a complaint
about a 'slow' telephone line, or not enough bandwidth to make a call?
Have a look at http://www-ipg.umds.ac.uk/~johnh/aminet.html

Again, ATM. I'm sitting in front of my ATM switch right now, and can
configure peak cell rates etc. etc. for all channels on it.
