Please help us identify innovations that are taking place in primary
care. We are trying to set up a database of innovations in primary
care at the National Primary Care Research and Development Centre at
the University of Manchester. The aim of the database will be to
facilitate the sharing of ideas and solutions amongst innovators, the
NHS and the research community.
This pilot database, if successful, will be extended to include all
primary health care innovations.
Specifically we are interested in any of the following:
1)Out-of-hours: eg. nurse triage, 888 telephone lines,
co-op/deputising partnerships, and alternatives to traditional home
consultation services.
2)Salaried GPs:
eg. those employed to provide general medical services by co-ops,
universities, private companies, health authorities, regional NHSE
outposts, hospital A&E departments and pilot schemes proposed by
the White Paper, Choice and Opportunity.
In 1997 this database will be accessible either through the existing
NPCRDC web site or by contacting Toby Gosden.
If anyone knows of any progressive or forward thinking schemes in the
above areas then please could they contact Toby Gosden tel. 0161 275
7605, fax 0161 275 7600, email [log in to unmask]
Any help much appreciated.
Toby Gosden
