Do you have any hard evidence as to whether this service has reduced
referral rates?
We would very much like to develop such a service locally, but first
need to satisfy the Director of Public Health (this being a primary
care led health service) that the investment can be justified on
clinical and cost-effectiveness grounds.
In other words, can we develop the service from within the existing
cardiology budget?
The tangential benefits of improving general practice management of
heart failure etc. don't cut much ice with the DPH :-(
