If anyone's buying me a book for Christmas, I'd like 'Idoru' by William
Gibson please!
What I've enjoyed reading this year:
Richard Dawkins - 'The Selfish Gene' and 'The Blind Watchmaker'
Iain Banks - just about everything, but particularly 'Complicity' - even
better than 'The Crow Road' of recent BBC2 fame
Will Hutton - 'The State We're In'
Ben Elton - 'Popcorn'
David Lodge - 'Therapy'
Also tried the latest Asimov - 'Beyond Rama', but I didn't like it very
much - boring and didactic, and lacking in imagination, I'm afraid.
Best CD of the year:
Everything But the Girl - 'Walking Wounded'
Best film:
Gotta be 'Mission Impossible' - specially the bit in the Tunnel where
the helicopter manages to graze the tunnel lining with the rotor
blades without crashing ...
Best TV:
Don't get time to watch TV - too busy reading gp-uk <g>
