Apparently the DOH instructions are that claims must be made on GMS4
forms "except in exceptional circumstances". This may be interpreted at
the discretion of the Health Authority. Our HA have decided that plain
paper print outs which contain exactly the same information as the GMS4
are acceptable - in fact better because of legibility. Surely if the
"Patients not Paper" initiative means anything we should press for this
to be a general guideline nationwide. The protection against fraud lies
in the audit trail on the computer not in whether the claim is on green
or white paper.
